About SUNY Binghamton

The State University of New York at Binghamton, also known as Binghamton University and SUNY Binghamton, is a public research university in the southern tier region of New York state. The university is known for its strong academics, emphasis on research, and affordable education. 

Binghamton University offers a wide range of academic programs but is particularly well known for its psychology department. In addition to having one of the top PhD and master’s programs, the BA and BS psychology programs are also well known. Other popular majors at Binghamton include environmental studies, biology, computer science, integrative neuroscience, and economics. 

The Binghamton University campus can be described as inclusive and bustling with activity. There are many opportunities for students to participate and attend academic and extracurricular events. For example, many undergrad students participate in research programs and events like the Summer Scholars and Artists Program, The Source Project, and Research Days.

Binghamton University competes against schools like University of New Hampshire and University of Vermont in NCAA Division I athletics as a member of the American East Conference. The most competitive sports at the university are basketball, soccer, baseball, lacrosse, and wrestling. Binghamton University does not have a football program.
